Reconstruction of River Road (CR 567) From Elm Street to 1,000 North

Bid date Description-Bids shall be delivered in sealed envelopes and addressed to Melissa A. Kosensky, Purchasing Agent, County Administration Building, Purchasing 3rd Floor, 20 Grove Street, Somerville, New Jersey 08876. clearly marked on the outside with the contract name and number, bearing the name and address of the bidder on the outside. Bid opened read in public by Purchasing Agent in the County of Somerset, Administration Building, 20 Grove Street,3rd Floor, County Commissioners Meeting Room, Somerville, New Jersey 08876 Road will be widened from 22-foot to 28-foot in total width, reconstructing most of the pavement within the project limits. A large retaining wall will be constructed along the southbound lane to alleviate embankment erosion issues between the road and the South Branch Raritan River. Additional improvements include a new 4-foot-wide berm along the wall, replacement of guide rail, fencing along portions of the new wall, drainage improvements, new pipe outfalls and erosion protection measures at the river. Bidder shall submit with the bid a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total price bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00, payable unconditionally to Somerset County Treasurer, along with a Certificate (Consent of Surety) with Power of Attorney for full amount of bid price from a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and that said Surety will furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in amounts of 100% of successful bidder's contract.
