Description

he Department of Veterans Affairs, 508 Fulton Street Durham, NC has a requirement for a contractor to provide all labor, material, supplies, equipment, transportation, permits, license and qualified supervision for Project 558-21-107, to Correct the Trash Chute in Building 1, Durham VAMC 508 Fulton Street Durham, NC. General Scope: The Contractor will provide all transportation, material, hardware, parts, tools, specialized equipment, labor, supervision and technical expertise to Correct Trash Chute. Work shall include, but not be limited to: Rooms C1003, C2007, C3009, C4019, C5009, C6007, C7009, C8007, C9007, and C10017 Repair penetrations to rated walls via dry-wall repair, patching, application of fire caulking. Apply elastomeric fire stop in transition joint areas. Install new impact resistant and waterproof wall cladding system on all walls. Coverings shall extend from the finished floor to a minimum of four inches above to the acoustical ceiling tile. Replace cove base material and install wall guard. Wall cladding and protection system shall be from a single manufacturer. Replace all chute doors, chute door frames, and closure devices. Install electrical locking system to limit one trash and one linen chute door to be opened at a single time. New doors, hardware, and devices shall meet Accessibility and Fire Rating requirements as indicated in the Life Safety drawing excerpts attached. Replace acoustical tile ceiling and track system with new. Maintain existing sprinkler system. Install new floor mounted door stops and door Replace up to 960 square feet of non-compliant dry wall with rated dry wall as indicated in the Life Safety drawing excerpts attached. Provide separate line item cost in schedule of values for dry wall replacement reserve. Contractor shall conduct limited dry wall coring in areas identified by COR in order to verify compliance with wall rating. Maintain existing room functionality not otherwise referenced in scope of work. Room CG003 Demolish all interior existing walls from finished floor to decking above and install rated walls as indicated in the Life Safety drawing excerpts attached. Install new impact resistant and waterproof wall cladding system on all walls. Coverings shall extend from the finished floor to a minimum of four inches above the acoustical ceiling tile. Install new cove base, corner and wall guards. Corner guards to be installed on all outside corners. Wall cladding and protection system shall be from a single manufacturer. Replace acoustical tile ceiling and track system with new. Replace existing ceiling mounted air outlets with new. Maintain existing sprinkler system. Replace linen chute door, chute door frame, and closure device. Fabricate chute door support sufficient to maintain door in the open position without creating penetration in acoustical ceiling tile. Install new stainless-steel chains and fusible links. Fabricate chute door support sufficient to maintain trash chute door in the open position without creating penetration in acoustical ceiling tile. Install new stainless-steel chains and fusible links. Demolish existing floor covering to original concrete decking. Install new epoxy floor covering system. Slope floor to achieve positive drainage to the existing drain locations. Replace all drain and cleanout covers in the space and reapply sealant to ensure proper water proofing. Install new wall mounted hose bib, coordinate location with VA COR. Cut and cap existing water line beneath finished wall surface. Replace existing electrical panel with NEMA 4X panel. Demolish existing power receptacles and replace with covered GFCI receptacles rated for wet locations. Reinstall new receptacles four feet above finished flooring. Replace all existing electrical fixtures with fixtures rated for wet location. Maintain existing room functionality not otherwise referenced in scope of work.
