South Water Tower

This project consists of maintenance and improvements to the City of Mason 500,000-gallon elevated water tower located on Hull Road, south of Kipp Road in the City of Mason. Work shall include abrasive blast cleaning and applying a three (3) coat zinc epoxy system; applying a polyurethane caulk to the roof lap seams; removal of the cathodic protection for reinstallation by the City’s vendor; abrasive blast cleaning the entire transition cone, the entire access tube and pot failures throughout; applying a three (3) coat epoxy system to the transition cone and access tube and a spot two (2) coat system to the remaining prepared surfaces. Abrasive blast cleaning of the pit piping and applying a two (2) coat epoxy system. Repairing foundation grout. Installing a mechanical mixer. Completing the following repairs: 1) Replace the transition cone manway gasket. 2) Replace the wet interior roof hatch. 3) Replace the access tube roof hatch. 4) Install a handhold at the painter’s (bird) hatch. 5) Replace the expansion joint. 6) Overflow discharge extension and screen replacement. 7) Replace the mud valve. 8) Replace the fall prevention device on the wet interior ladder. 9) Replace vent with a frost-free roof vent. 10) Replace dry interior light bulbs. 11) Replace the sample tap on the fill/draw pipe.
