Road Repair

The contractor shall furnish necessary equipment, materials, labor and supervision to perform the following work at the FRL Glide Slope (GS) facility located on the South end of the airport at the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport, Jackson, MS 39208. The GS access road is currently a gravel/soil/grass road where the gravel has been pushed down and overtaken by the surrounding material. The access road is approximately 526 feet in length, and the starting point is at LAT/LONG 32°17'44.47"N, 90° 4'41.09"W and ending at the site at LAT/LONG 32°17'48.09"N, 90° 4'36.47"W 1. Blade/cut to remove the vegetation or first two inches of material over the entire length of the road along the path shown in Figure 1. 2. Re-establish road by mechanical, machine-driven equipment. 3. Reclaimexisting gravel. 4. Provide and install gravel material or crushed concrete material over the entire length of road (Approx. 526 linear feet), 12 feet wide, 3 inches thick, compacted with heavy equipment. (Submittal Required – with bid). 5. Create crown in road to enhance drainage. 6. All vehicles shall be required to display an Orange/White Checkered flag (36” x 36” ) with 12” alternating Orange and White Squares, on a 5’ Aluminum Mast. (Similar to Traffic Safety Warehouse 14977-5) 7. The contractor shall provide and maintain a Foreign Object or Debris (FOD) program to ensure that trash and project spoils are contained to prevent any damage to aircraft.
