Description

RTA is seeking HVAC replacement at Lyons Rd South Hub. Currently all (3) indoor HVAC units have failed and need immediate replacement. Barge Design has developed a scope of work for the replacement of the existing units and the addition of an integrated controls system to tie back to GDRTA's campus wide HVAC controls program. Please see the related materials from Barge regarding the detailed scope of work and design intent. It is the policy of the Department of Transportation (DOT) that DBEs, as defined in 49 CFR Part 26, shall have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of contracts financed in whole or in part with federal funds under this Agreement. Although the DBE goal for this procurement is 0%, RTA welcomes DBE participation. To ensure greater accuracy, please contact me via email rreed@greaterdaytonrta.org. A Bid Bond, Cashier's Check or Certified Check Must Accompany This Bid for Not Less Than 0 % of the Base Bid Price. In the Event Bid is Accepted, a Performance Bond in the Amount of 0 % & a Payment Bond in the Amount of 0% Will Be Required of the Contract Amount Within Ten (10) Calendar Days After Notification of Award. The RTA reserves the right, as the interest of the RTA requires, to postpone, accept or reject any and all quotes and to waive any informality in the quotes received. GENERAL Work is to be completed by a licensed contractor in the State of Ohio. Work shall be coordinated with GDRTA to allow for normal facility operation during construction. All required permits shall be included within each scope of work item listed below. Coordinate all work with other trades. Contractors shall visit the project site and become familiar with the existing site conditions prior to submitting their proposal. MECHANICAL Demolish (3) existing Carrier packaged units located in attic space including associated condensate drain piping, thermostats, and controls wiring. Demolish condenser-side ductwork back to exterior wall louver and blank-off louver weather-tight with insulation. Re-use supply and return duct to the fullest extent possible. Demolish existing electric duct heaters. Install (3) new 5-ton split system heat pumps (min. 13.0 SEER) with indoor AHUs. Install new 20kW electric duct heater with each air handler (3 total) to operate during winter heating mode. Comply with manufacturer's recommended clearances for indoor and outdoor units and to allow for maintenance and access. Install associated refrigerant lines through new exterior wall penetration. Seal annular space around wall penetration weather tight. Install condensate drain piping to floor drain near attic ladder. Re-connect to existing supply ductwork and install new duct and insulation as necessary. Install new BACnet MTSP thermostats for heat pump and electric duct heater controls. Integrate controls to Tridium Web Supervisor through new Tridium Jace 8000 controller (or equal) and install new CAT6 cable to RTA-provided IT switch and connect to RTA provided IP address. Run system start-up and verification. Demonstrate operation of equipment to RTA personnel before project close-out. Install (3) outdoor HVAC units on exterior CMU wall on north side of the building. Install units as high as possible on CMU wall while maintaining outdoor HVAC unit manufacturer's required clearances. Utilize galvanized steel mounting brackets (minimum (2) per outdoor HVAC unit) with minimum (2) anchor points in exterior CMU wall per bracket. Fasten brackets to CMU using a minimum of (2) 1/4 " diameter Tapcon screws with 1" minimum embedment per anchor point or (8) total per unit. Anchors shall be spaced a minimum of 3" apart and 2" from the edge of the concrete block it is secured to. Seal all penetrations of building envelope for mechanical scope of work weather tight. ELECTRICAL Remove electrical connections to (3) existing heat pumps and (3) electric heaters. Circuits and disconnect switches to be re-used to the fullest extent possible. Reconnect electrical connections to (3) air handlers and (3) electric heaters. Install (3) new disconnect switches for outdoor heat pumps. Install new panelboard for outdoor heat pumps. Seal all penetrations of building envelope for electrical scope of work weather tight.
