Description | 14-208-23 Questions and Requests for Information shall be submitted to Faith Thomas (fthomas@lewistonmaine.gov) on or before noon, February 14, 2023 The work for the CHAMPLAIN AVENUE WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT shall consist of, but not be limited to, the complete and satisfactory construction of installation of: -1,800 LF of 6" Dia. DI Water Main -660 LF of 3/4 " Copper Water Services -530 CY Aggregate Base (MDOT 703.06 Type A) -850 CY Aggregate Subbase (MDOT 703.06 Type D) -540 Ton of 12.5mm HMA Surface Course -720 Ton of 19mm HMA Base Course -6,300 SY of Pavement Removal Work will include the installation of a new water main and services within the entirety of Champlain Avenue, and ~180-ft of water main in Surry Lane, as indicated on the bid plans. The existing pavement within Champlain Avenue & Surry Lane will need to be removed and repaved with base & finish surfaces to the full street width. Temporary water services during construction will be required during new main installation. Coordination with the Water District for requisite shut-downs will be required No Proposal will be considered unless it is accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, made out in favor of the City of Lewiston. All bid securities will be released upon deliverance of a signed Contract or, if no Contract award is made, within forty-five (45) days after the opening of the Proposals, unless forfeited as herein stipulated. A Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, preferably executed on AIA Bond Form Number A311, in an amount equal to the total Contract price, of a surety company satisfactory to the Purchasing Agent, will be required of the successful bidder to ensure completion of the work and the proper fulfillment of the conditions of the Contract. The total Contract price shall mean the total bid price as stated in the Proposal based on the estimated quantities of the various items of work. |
