Grit Removal Improvements - Sugar Creek Pump Station - 302405 - City of Independence

Process will further improve pre-treatment operations at the Sugar Creek Pump Station. This pump station manages approximately 40 percent of the waste stream for the Rock Creek Treatment Plant. Grit removal from the sanitary sewer waste stream improves pump station and treatment plant efficiencies. Removal at the pump stations instead of later in the treatment process will keep from additional power required to pump this material for later processing. As September 15, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2022-2028 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction FY '23/'24. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year '23/'24. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
