Description

The proposed construction will include, but is not limited to, milling existing pavement, surface paving, and patching of failed areas. Final material quantities used by contractor will be confirmed with individual truck weight tickets as determined necessary by the Town. The Town may add or delete projects from the bidding list due to budgetary considerations. Unit prices bid shall be used for any adjustment. All bids must be submitted on prescribed State Board of Accounts Form No. 96 together with the proper forms included in the Contract Documents, the entire set of which shall be filed intact as a bid. Any person, firm or corporation who submits a proposal MUST file with their bid a CERTIFIED CHECK, BANK DRAFT, CHASHIER'S CHECK OR MONEY ORDER issued by a financial institution insured by an agency of the United States in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the Town of Culver. In lieu of the above, any person, firm or corporation who submits a proposal and has a principal place of business in the State of Indiana MAY file with their proposal a BOND in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the Town of Culver. Bids may be held by the Town of Culver for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the public opening. The successful Contractor will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price within ten (10) days after award of the contract and a one (1) year Maintenance Bond in the amount of thirty percent (30%) of the contract price prior to completion and final payment of the contract. No Contractor may withdraw his proposal within thirty (30) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Culver Town Council reserves the right to reject any proposal, to waive technicalities or irregularities therein, to delete any bid item or items and to award a contract on the proposal that in their judgment is most advantageous to Town of Culver. Payment terms shall be net 30 as the work is completed, with 5% of costs held in retainage by the Town of Culver until all the contracted work is substantially complete to the satisfaction of the Utilities Superintendent, Bob Porter.
