Description

The Town of Avon, CT invites sealed bids for the upgrade of its Route 44 sanitary sewer pump station as further described in the Specifications. This contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract to be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified check of the bidder or a Bid bond with a surety acceptable to the Town in an amount equal to at least TEN PERCENT (10%) of the Bid amount. The Performance Security shall be equal to at least FIFTY PERCENT (50%) of the Contract price, and in a form reasonably acceptable to the Town. The Payment Bond shall be (a) in the full amount of the Contract price. An Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. Minority/Women's Business Enterprises are encouraged to apply. The Route 44 Pump Station Upgrade Project consists abandoning an existing "tin-can" style pump station, providing a pre-packaged submersible pump station inclusive of wet well, valve vault, and appurtenances, site work, fencing around the station, installation of Owner furnished emergency generator and transfer switch, electrical power, instrumentation and controls, installation of Owner furnished shed ,approximately 40 linear feet of 8-inch gravity sewer and approximately 15 linear feet of 12-inch gravity sewer, approximately 40 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron sanitary force main, and connection to an existing 8-inch ductile iron force main. If Contractor desires to utilize steel sheeting with the installation of the pre-packaged pump station, stamped and signed design drawings and calculations by a Structural Engineer in the State of Connecticut shall be submitted for review.
