Description

Fire Station No 2 Flat Roof Removal Replacement. Each bid must contain the full name or names of the party or parties making the same, with an affidavit as to interested parties, and in the case of a corporation not chartered in Ohio, with a proper certificate that such corporation is authorized to do business in Ohio, and be accompanied by a bond, or a certified or cashier's check on a solvent bank, made payable to the order of the CITY OF SHAKER HEIGHTS in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the base bid. The City of Shaker Heights is Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits, in accordance with the law, discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, military status, national origin, disability, age, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity or expression. Minority Business Enterprises, Female Business Enterprises and Small Business Enterprises shall be afforded full opportunity to submit bids or proposals for this project. The bid bond, or a certified or cashier's check, as the case may be, will be held as a guarantee that, if the bid proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into between the bidder and the City of Shaker Heights, and the performance of such contract secured by said check or bond, and default thereof said check and/or bond, and the amount represented thereby, shall be forfeited to the City of Shaker Heights, as liquidated damages. The City of Shaker Heights reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities in the bids received, and to accept any bid which they deem most favorable Provide partial roof replacement of the Fire Station No. 2 Building Shaker Heights located at 2801 Warrensville Center Rd Shaker Heights, Ohio 44122 as provided for in bid specifications. The work required under this heading includes all tools, materials, labor, transportation, disposal, supervision, coordination effort, permits and equipment necessary to remove and replace the existing flat roof sections of Fire Station No. 2. Specifications provide for replacement of existing flat roof with a Roof Insulation System, SBS Modified Roofing Membranes including, termination bar, venting and detailing on flat roof surfaces. Contractor shall determine a comprehensive scope of work through review of the specifications including review of onsite conditions not provided forth in bid documents. A project site pre-bid walkthrough will occur on per date herein. All work performed throughout the project shall be business friendly and the construction area shall be maintained in a clean and orderly manner. Contractor shall monitor his daily/weekly operations to prevent unnecessary inconveniences and hardships to the buildings occupants. Safe and sufficient driveway access along with safe and clean conditions are of the highest priority. Construction vehicles are prohibited in using residential driveways and parking lots to park in without written authorization from owner. All construction activities shall be completed 45 days from Notice to Proceed to substantial completion. It is anticipated work will commence and be completed between April 2023 and end of May 2023. The estimated cost of construction for the project is approximately $50,000. Contractor shall use the following new products which shall include adhering to current building codes. Product Data sheets included with specifications. Contractor is responsible for field measuring and field verification of proposed new equipment. SBS - Modified Membranes StressPly IV Membrane or equal -Coverage - 75SF/Roll -Weight (Approx.) 110LBs -Thickness (Nominal) - 180 mils -Roll Size - 39" x 26' 2" -Tear Strength - 250Lbf/in -Low Temperature Flex - -40oF (-40oC) Ultra-Shield Torch Base -Coverage - 113SF/Roll -Weight - 76LBs/Roll -Thickness (Nominal) - 110mil -Roll Size - 3' 3" x 34' 8" -Tear Strength - 125LBf/in Roof Insulation System Enrgy 3 Polyisocyanurate Roof Insulation -4'x8' boards -Thickness 1.75" -Value R8.6 Other -Remove all debris from roof decks and secure HVAC condensers for construction. -Remove existing bitumen roofing material, insulation, and vapor barriers down to the concrete decking. -Broom/blow off the concrete decking to remove all residual materials. -Repair any cracks or voids 1/4 " or wider on the concrete decks. -Install the Roof Insulation System per manufactures recommendations. -Install Ultra-Shield Torch Base per manufactures recommendations. -Install SBS StressPly IV and seal around roof hatch, vent pipes, chimney, and interior corners. -Install Cant Bead and Termination Bar along all outer walls.
