Description | RFIs shall be submitted by 11:00 AM EST, 16 June 2023. This is the solicitation for the Beach Nourishment Cape May Inlet to Lower Township Cape May, Cape May County, NJ. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District intends to award a firm fixed-price contract that consists of base bid items to conduct pre-placement condition surveys and pump/place 517,000 cubic yards of sand from two borrow areas approximately 2.6 miles south of the Cape May Inlet jetties onto the beach at 2 locations: Area 1 (471,000 cu yds), the US Coast Guard Training Center and Area 2 (46,000 cu yds), Wilmington Ave. Options to place additional sand (95,000 cu yds) from the same borrow areas to achieve the full project design template at these same two beach locations are also be included. Sand must come from the offshore borrow areas. Trucking-in sand will not be permitted under this contract. The project is located on the Atlantic coast of New Jersey, extending from the Cape May Inlet southwest jetty to the 3rd Ave terminal groin in Cape May City. It includes the communities of the City of Cape May and Lower Township, and the US Coast Guard Training Center. This acquisition is a Full and Open Competition, Invitation for Bids (IFB). The award will be made as a whole to one responsible bidder in accordance FAR part 14 Procedures. The bid opening is currently scheduled for 06 July 2023 at 1:00 PM EDT. Reference the solicitation instructions for bid opening location and details. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO CHECK SAM.GOV FREQUENTLY FOR ANY AMENDMENTS OR CHANGES TO THE SOLICITATION, INCLUDING THE BID OPENING DATE. All work under the contract must be completed no later than 1 March 2024. The contract period of performance is 170 calendar days. The Magnitude of Construction is between $10,000,000 to $25,000,000. The NAICS code for this project is 237990 - Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction. Bonding will be required at the time of bid opening, and after award but before Notice to Proceed, Performance and Payment Bonds will be required. The awarded contract will contain Liquidated Damages at the rate specified in the Solicitation.
