| Description | Project Goal: The goal of this project is to provide a safety mulch for the installation of two new playgrounds and existing playgrounds in the city. The amounts to be used is 600-800 plus or minus yards of playground safety mulch. Mulch Specifications: 1. Playground mulch / chips shall be certified for use in public and private playgrounds. They shall be manufactured from a mix of virgin wood fiber that meets both the ASTM F1292 Standard Specification for impact attenuation and ASTM F 2075-04 specification for wood fiber use as a safety surface under and around playgrounds. 2. Prior to issuing a letter of intent or purchase order a contractor / vendor may be requested to send a representative sample / submittal of their mulch materials if so requested by the Bureau. 1.
