Description

LED Lighting Conversion and Financing Project The scope of the Jefferson Schools LED Lighting Conversion andFinancingProject will include all interior and exterior fixtures, and will includeacombination of the following: i. Replacement of existing non-LED lamps. ii. Retrofitting of fixtures where possible to accommodate LEDlampsandlamp replacement. iii. Installation of new fixtures where lamp replacement or retrofittingoftheexisting fixture is not feasible or is not preferred. iv. All linear fluorescent and PL type fixtures scheduled to be retrofittedmustbe direct wired with a Type B LED Linear Tube, or Type BLEDPLtypelamp. Ballast compatible LED products, and all glass or all plastictype LED linear tubes are not acceptable. Only aluminumbackedLED linear tubes are acceptable. v. Existing socket holders in the linear fluorescent fixtures that arescheduled to be retrofitted with LED linear tubes shall bereplacedwith new LED application approved socket holders. vi. Removal and proper disposal of ALL existing lighting fixtureelectronicballasts and lamps. vii. Lighting controls shall be installed in certain areas throughout theschooldistrict. Please see the attached Controls Schedules for the total numberand type of controls to be installed in each area in the various buildings. Specification sheets for the lighting controls products are includedinthisbid package. No alternatives shall be accepted regarding the typeofcontrols to be installed. viii. Because of the nature of retrofitting existing lighting infrastructure, amodest departure from the written scope of work in this RFPis expected. Jefferson Schools shall include as part of this bid, an allowanceequal to10% multiplied by the sum of labor plus materials by school. Intheeventa departure from the scope of work as defined in this RFPis identifiedbya contractor, the contractor must provide Jefferson Schools withawrittenquote for the change order, and the change order must be approvedinwriting prior to beginning any additional work.
