Description

For this project, the Village of Greendale will ONLY be receiving and accepting bids for the Pedestrian Safety/ADA Improvement Project via the online electronic bid service through Electronic bids will be accepted until 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 29, 2022. After the official Bid closing time, the Bids will be opened, reviewed, and posted on website To access the electronic bid form, download the project documents and click the online bidding button at the top of advertisement. A certified check or bid bond payable without condition to the Village of Greendale in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted a proper contract and bond will be executed and filed within 10 days after the acceptance of the bid. If such bidder fails to execute and file such contract and bond, the amount of the check or bid bond shall be forfeited as liquidated damages. \ No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of bids without the consent of the Village of Greendale for a period of sixty (60) days after the time of opening bids. Each bidder agrees upon submission of bid that if the same be accepted within said time period, he shall be bound by the terms of acceptance hereinafter contained. \ The bidder's attention is called to the "Notice of Requirement for Affirmative Action to Ensure Equal Employment Opportunity (Executive Order 11246)," "contained in the bid documents, which sets forth, in part, goals and timetables for the employment of women and minorities in the project area." \ Contractors and Subcontractors are required to pay not less than the prevailing wage rates on public work as established by Federal Department of Labour wage scale rates for various job classifications. A copy of these Federal required wage rates is contained in the Contract Document. \ Contractors will be required to obtain minority-owned businesses to perform work totalling 20 percent, and women-owned businesses 5 percent, of the construction contract amount. The Milwaukee County Community Business Development Partners (414-278-4747) will assist contractors in soliciting minority and women-owned subcontractors and suppliers if requested. \ The Village of Greendale reserves the right to reject any or all bids received or to accept any bid which may be to the best interest of the Village. Each successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond in the sum of the full amount of the contract. \ Bids shall include the furnishing and installation of all labour, materials, permits, equipment, tools, supplies, etc., for complete operating installation of the Pedestrian Safety/ADA Improvement Project. \ Approximate quantities of work on the Pedestrian Safety/ADA Improvement Project are as follows: 85 LF - Pavement Sawing \ 170 SY - Pavement Removal \ 85 LF - Remove & Replace Concrete Curb & Gutter \ 70 SY - 8" Concrete Pavement \ 50 SY - 8" Coloured Concrete Pavement \ 83 TON - 1 1/4" Crushed Aggregate Base \ 20 TON - HMA Pavement (3 LT 58-28 S) \ 10 TON - HMA Pavement (5 LT 58-28 S) \ 39 LF - 8" Dia. PVC SDR 26 Storm Sewer \ 23 LF - 4" Dia. PVC SDR 26 Storm Sewer \ 2 EA - File No. 25 Catch Basin \ 44 SF - Curb Ramp, Detectable Warning Field, Yellow \ 64 LF - Marking Crosswalk Epoxy Transverse Line, 6-Inch \ 4 EA - Marking Transition Table Symbol, Epoxy \ Together with appurtenant construction. \ All bids must be prepared as described in the Instructions to Bidders and filed electronically via the online electronic bid service through QuestCDN.com. \ Plans and specifications for this project were prepared by consulting engineers, r a Smith - 16745 West Blue mound Road, Suite 200, Brookfield, Wisconsin, 53005. \ Authority to publish this project was granted by the Village Board of the Village of Greendale, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. Notice to Proceed is anticipated to be issued on August 16, 2022 The goal for minority participation, expressed in percentage terms for the Contractor's aggregate workforce in each trade on all construction work in the covered area is 8.0%.
