Description

The project includes civil site work associated with construction of a new synthetic turf multi-purpose athletic field and a multi-purpose paved area with accessible parking. Work includes but is not limited to the installation and/or construction of synthetic field turf (turf furnished by Owner), sports field sub-base and sub-drainage, site lighting (furnished by Owner), fencing, asphalt paving, concrete paving, earthwork, and storm sewer infrastructure. Bidders will be required to submit recent and relevant project experience and associated references for constructed examples of laser graded fields with similar drainage profiles and field lighting for synthetic turf competition fields. The work will be awarded in one Contract. For questions about ordering documents, call 334-678-9838. One set of Bidding Documents may be obtained by prime contractor bidders electronically at no charge. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, prepared on the form of Bid Bond attached to the Contract Documents or a Surety Companys Standard Bid Bond, duly executed by the Bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Alabama and listed as a certified company in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570, in the amount of three percent of the Bid, but in no event more than $10,000. No bid may be withdrawn within 60 calendar days after the scheduled time for receipt of bids. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Owner; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying its current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. If subcontractor(s) are used, they must be in compliance with Alabama Contractor Licensing laws. The Owner will in no way be liable for any costs incurred by any bidder in the preparation of its Bid in response to this Invitation to Bid. The successful Bidder for this Contract will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and Payment Bond each in the amount of 100 percent of the Bid. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive informalities and to re-advertise.
