Description | For Victor Drive Water Main Replacement Project The work involves the following major item (s): Installation of approximately 1,500 linear feet of 8" Molecularly Oriented Polyvinyl Chloride (PVCO) water main, 110 linear feet of 8" and 6" ductile iron water main, approximately 110 linear feet of HDPE service piping, fittings, fire hydrants, ductile iron gate valves, temporary water main bypass and other related water system work on Victor Drive. Additional work includes approximately 1,000 square yards of temporary trench paving and 1,350 square yards of mill and overlay trench pavement, and all other related work as specified. All items related to the water main replacement and temporary trench paving shall be completed within 60 calendar days during June to August 2023 while the John W. Wynn Middle School is on summer vacation. The John W. Wynn Middle School tentatively has its last day of school on June 23, 2023. This date may be adjusted based on the actual number of snow days utilized. BID SECURITIES shall be in amount of 5% of the bid and in the form of a certified check drawn upon a bank within the State of Massachusetts or a bid bond executed by a surety company authorized to do business in Massachusetts, made payable to the OWNER. The successful bidder must furnish a 100% PERFORMANCE and PAYMENT BOND and will be required to execute the Contract Agreement within ten (10) days following notification of the acceptance of his Bid. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept any bid, to waive any informality on bids received, and to omit any item or items deemed advisable for the best interests of the OWNER. Bids are subject to Massachusetts-M.G.L. Chapter 30-Section 39M and to Massachusetts minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. Chapter 149- Sections 26 to 27D inclusive. The award of the contract is contingent upon the availability and appropriation of funding by the Town. All costs associated with the preparation of the bids shall be the responsibility of the bidder, regardless of whether or not the Contract is awarded. The successful bidder shall certify that all employees at the worksite will have successfully completed a course in construction safety and health approved by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) that is at least 10 hours in duration at the time the employee begins work and who shall furnish documentation of successful completion of said course with the first certified payroll for each employee.
