Description | Site work for a water / sewer project in Ames, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project. Furman Aquatic Center Lazy River Pipe Repair The project site is located at the City of Ames Parks & Recreation Furman Aquatic Center located at 1635 13th Street in Ames, IA. Work consists of lining a section of pipe and stop water loss in the Lazy River at the Furman Aquatic Center. It is the bidder's responsibility to confirm the existing equipment and conditions are compatible with items provided to complete this project. If the accepted bid is over $25,000, the selected Contractor will be required to provide a performance and payment bond equal to the total bid amount. Contractor will include the cost of the performance and payment bond in the bid. Each successful bidder shall be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of its contract price. Said bond shall be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City's Risk Manager and shall guarantee faithful performance of the contract and terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee prompt payment of material and labor and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the work in good repair for a period of one (1) year from and after the completion and acceptance by the City. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provision grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes. The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
