Description

The pavement sweeping service will be used for the removal of road debris accumulated along curbs and median barrier. The sweeper shall clean a minimum six (6) foot wide path per pass, have a minimum hopper capacity of four (4) cubic yards, shall operate at a minimum cleaning speed of two (2) miles per hour and have the capability to travel at normal highway speeds. Sufficient dust control shall be provided during operation of the sweeper. The service shall include a mechanical broom, vacuum or regenerative air type sweeper with an operator. Sweeping operations are restricted to daylight hours and will not be scheduled for weekends or holidays, as observed by the Commission. A location for staging and debris unloading is provided to the Contractor at a designated facility where from the Commission shall be responsible for the disposal of said materials. The Commission will provide traffic control and a lead vehicle to pick up larger or heavier items that the sweeper is incapable of removing. The Contractor shall provide all equipment, fuel, lubricants, etc., as is necessary to provide for the continuous operation of the sweeper. Water shall be provided for the Contractor’s use at Commission Maintenance Buildings.
