Description | The improvements for which bids will be received are described as follows: Installation of two sports courts, earth work, and related items at two City parks, Church Creek & Heritage Park. Bids are to be submitted only in the form provided in the Project Manual, and all bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the "City of Stanwood" of value not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid. All work shall be physically complete within 30 working days of receiving a Notice to Proceed. Time extensions may be granted for rainfall days that prevent work that is already in progress. The City of Stanwood reserves the right to accept a proposal of the lowest responsible bidder, reject any or all bids, and to waive irregularities in the bid or in the bidding. All Bids shall be submitted on the prescribed Bid Forms and in the manner as stated in this Advertisement and. in the RFP and said Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid deposit in the form of a cashier s check, postal money order, or Surety bond, to the City of Stanwood in the amount of five percent (5%) ofthe total amount of the Bid. If a Surety bond is used, said bond shall be issued by a Surety authorized, and. registered to issue said bonds in the State of Washington. The bond shall specify the Surety's name, address, contact and phone number, and shall include a power of attorney appointing the signatory of the bond as the person authorized to execute it. Should the successful Bidder fail to enter the Contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in. the Information for Bidders, the Bid deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Stanwood. Faxed Bids and/or Surety bonds will not be accepted The City of Stanwood in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1.964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in Federally assisted programs of the Department ofTransportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all Bidders that, it will affirmatively insure that in any Contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded, full opportunity to submit Bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color,national origin, or sex in consideration for an Award. The City of Stanwood reserves the right to accept the Bid that is in the best interest of the City, to postpone the acceptance of Bids and the Award of the Contract for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) calendar days, or to reject any and all Bids received. Subject to the foregoing, the Bid may be awarded to the lowest responsible Bidder. When awarded the Contract, the successful Bidder shall promptly execute the Contract and shall furnish a bond of faithful performance of the Contract in the full amount of the Contract price.
