Description | Cary is hereby requesting proposals for the construction of Loch Highlands Drive Traffic Calming, project number ST3603. This request is for informal bids in accordance with G.S. 143-131. The project is further described as follows and on the attached documents. Construct traffic calming as shown on the construction drawings, inclusive of a flat-top speed hump, a raised pedestrian crosswalk, ADA curb ramp replacement and transition paving, offset speed humps, and associated pavement striping and signage. Selective removal & replacement of existing centreline striping will be required as shown on the drawings. All improvements shall be constructed in accordance with Cary Standard Specifications and Details. Prepare and implement a traffic control plan - Perform surface preparation, including milling of existing pavement - Construct pavement undulations and ADA ramps in accordance with the Cary Standard Details - Install post-mounted traffic signage and pavement markings in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) This project will be executed in accordance with the Town of Cary Standard Terms and Conditions and using the Cary small construction agreement, which is attached for reference. PROJECT SCHEDULE: This project is estimated to last no more than 20 working days and is expected to be completed in 2022. Bidders shall provide a proposed schedule for completion with the bid. Bids must be itemized according to the bid form provided and must represent the full and complete cost for the work described on the attachments. Bids shall be submitted via email to the address below; the proposed project schedule may be included in the email body. Contractors offering a proposal must be licensed to do the specified type of contracting in the State of North Carolina. Cary reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
