WB & A Trail - P393600 - Anne Arundel County

This project authorizes the right of way acquisition, design and construction of a paved multiuse trail primarily on the abandoned roadbed of the former W B & A Railroad south of Odenton. When complete, the project will link the South Shore Trail in Odenton with the Patuxent River and an existing rail trail in Prince George's County. The W B & A Trail will be a component of the East Coast Greenway and the American Discovery Trail.Construction of this recreational and transportation corridor will be done in phases: Phase I - Odenton Road to Strawberry Lake Way Phase II A - Strawberry Lake Way to Conway Road (bridges) Phase II B - Strawberry Lake Way to Conway Road (paving) Phase III - Conway Road to Patuxent River Phase IV - Loop from Strawberry Lake Way to South Shore Trail Phase V - Bridge over the Patuxent River As of August 24, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2028 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2026. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
