Shannon & Wilson's services were conducted in accordance with our Subcontractor Agreement for Services dated December 16, 2020. The completed geotechnical design services for the project consisted of the following tasks: Performing site reconnaissance to determine site conditions, access, potential drilling locations, and safety concerns; Preparing temporary traffic control plans and Site-Specific Health and Field Safety Plan; Performing the subsurface explorations including drilling two (2) borings and one (1) insitu infiltration test; Performing laboratory testing to determine soil index properties; Evaluating subsurface conditions; Reviewing available existing geotechnical data including geology, soil maps, and available literature and as-built drawings; Providing field (raw) in-situ infiltration test results; Providing foundation design recommendations for traffic signal poles; Providing construction considerations for traffic signal pole foundations; and Preparing this Geotechnical Engineering Report summarizing all tasks listed. The proposed improvements include proposed LIDA stormwater quality facilities and traffic signal poles at the intersection of Jean Road and Pilkington Road. Generally, the explorations were performed at locations to provide a suitable subsurface profile across the intersection and at locations within approximately 75 feet of a proposed structure. Due to overhead power lines, buried utilities, temporary traffic control, and site access constraints, some exploration locations were moved to distances greater than 75 feet from proposed structures, but these locations still provide a suitable subsurface profile across the intersection.
