Description | Work in general shall consist of the following work items: BASE BID 1 In General, remove existing asphalt paving and portions of gravel base, etc. in Parking Lots 1 & 2 and replace with new paving and portions of gravel base, etc. In addition, there will be water line replacement and the running of electrical conduit from the building across Parking Lot #1. Portions of existing concrete sidewalk and grass/landscaping/topsoil will also be removed and replaced after work is completed. All work to be Bid thru a single Prime Contract. Bid Form, Bid Bond, Form of Non Collusive Affidavit and Representations, Certifications, and Other Statements of Bidders forms shall be submitted with bid. Failure to do so may be cause for rejection of bid. Copies of the above-mentioned forms are in the specification book. Bidders shall also include with bid letters regarding minority participation and Section 3 requirements as outlined in the specification book. A bid bond of 5% is required to be submitted with the bid with the bonding company listed in Circular 570. See instructions to bidders for requirements. Each Bidder shall comply completely with Instructions to Bidders. This shall include evidence of an Affirmative Action Program, including women and minorities. Follow Executive Order 11246. Contractors shall comply with minimum wages listed in the wage rates included in the specification. De Pere Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informalities in the Bidding. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the De Pere Housing Authority. The requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 apply to this project and to the greatest extent feasible; contractors shall fulfill their obligation to utilize lower income residents as trainees and/or employees. See Supplementary Instructions to Bidders and General Conditions of the Contract for Construction, Article 40, and Division 1-U regarding their responsibilities. |
