Description

Deck replacement on the town fishing Pier, which is 165 ft. long (field measure) by 16 ft wide. The Pier is located at Griffin Stormwater Park in Howey in the Hills. The work will include the removal, disposal, and replacement of the existing wood walk boards, matching existing size and thickness using similar 2x6 marine grade #1 pressure treated decking lumber fastened to the existing gal-aluminum structure with 2.5”, #10, high resistant #304 stainless steel fasteners. The removal, disposal and replacement of the existing wood midrail and handrail top cap to include all horizontal 2x6 stringers using similar 2x6 marine grade #1 pressure treated lumber fastened to the existing 4” x 6” wood support post with 3”, #10, high-resistant fasteners. Top rail will have 45-degree splices and must be rounded with no splinters. All wood to have C-A copper-based preservative with organic fungicide. All wood to be sealed with Olympic maximum marine wood sealant, Thompson water seal VOC wood protection or similar grade. (Follow manufacturers recommendation for sealing application delay time after deck installation.) Screws must be ¼ x 20 stainless self-tapping wafer head. Option #1 Alternate pricing using-aluminum .125 gauge decking. Option #2 Alternative pricing using polymer materials.
