On-Call Water Main Replacement

The Work generally consists of the replacement of water mains and associated valves, fittings, hydrants, services, appurtenances, and surface restorations in the Town of Avon, Massachusetts, on an on-call basis for a period of one (1) year. At the sole discretion of the Town of Avon, this Contract may be extended for up to two (2) additional oneyear periods at the same pricing, terms, and conditions. All water mains shall be replaced to equal or better than existing condition including pavement, sidewalk and curbing restoration, and loam and seed. The Town of Avon anticipates completing up to One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) of water main replacement work annually, however, the type and amount of work shown in the bid form is not guaranteed and is provided for comparison of bids for a typical year of work. The work for Year 1 is expected to generally consist of the installation of approximately 3,400 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron water main on Maple Avenue, Beech Street, Oak Street, Cedar Road and Avellino Circle. The list of streets will be finalized after award of a contract. All water mains shall be furnished and installed with associated valves, fittings, and hydrants. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept any bid, to waive any informality on bids received, to omit any item or items deemed advisable for the best interests of the Owner or to limit the extent of the Work to keep within the limits of available funds.
