Iowa State University is soliciting quotations to remove asbestos containing materials in conjunction with the Memorial Union Pride Lounge Renovation project. The Forestry Greenhouse is located at 2229 Lincoln Way on the campus of Iowa State University in Ames, IA. Contractors should read all materials and review all dates carefully. Questions Deadline: 3/22/2023 02:00 PM (CT) Response Deadline: 3/27/2023 04:00 PM (CT) All questions should be submitted in the online bidding system under the questions tab. Pre-bid meeting info : No verbal statements by ISU or its representatives at this meeting will be binding. ISU will post all changes and material clarifications in the form of an addenda after the meeting. Failure to attend or have representation at the meeting will result in the Contractor or individual being ineligible to participate in this competitive process. These specifications serve the function of ensuring that all asbestos containing materials (ACM) at Iowa State University (ISU) and other named entities are treated in a safe, healthful and legal manner. The successful bidder will ensure that: Abatement conforms to the intent of all laws and regulations; Workers take all reasonable precautions against the dangers of airborne asbestos fibers; Workers cause no contamination to other parts of the building; Workers minimize exposure to others performing abatement; Workers create no short or long-term threat to the health of other persons in or around the premises; Workers leave the building documentably safe for human occupation. - Remove barrel suspended celling, Remove asbestos containing acoustical ceiling treatment, associated plaster, metal lath, and black iron. - Remove asbestos containing fireproofing from Structural steel. - Remove asbestos containing acoustical ceiling treatment associated plaster, metal lath, and black iron.
