Valve and Vault Rehabilitation Program

Scope of Work: • Upgrade service line appurtenances to meet current City of Aurora specifications wherever possible. • Ensure proper operation of all meter service line valves for emergency isolation. • Prevent dangerous confined space issues. • Ensure the safety of personnel performing work in meter vaults i.e. testing and maintenance of meters. • Upgrading of identified aging infrastructure. • Replace the existing water meter service line appurtenances in meter vaults (i.e. valves, tees, elbows, ductile iron pipe, check valve, coupler and damaged or undersized vaults). • In the case of irrigation meter vaults, they will not include meter by -pass plumbing, but will include outside vault downstream valve and then a “T” or saddle to provide seasonal drainage of irrigation line. • Replace vault tops that will accommodate composite rings and covers.
