Description

This project consists of site improvements at two locations within the City of Auburn. The improvements a the South Street and Genesee Street Location include removals, surface rehabilitation of an existing concrete wall, installation of pavers, granite curbing, reinforced concrete sculpture foundation, planting beds, and low voltage site lighting. The improvements at Lincoln Street and William Street include the removal of existing lawn and installation of a reinforced concrete sculpture foundation, stone boulders, planting beds, and low voltage site lighting. This is a LUMP SUM contract and includes bid alternate(s) 1-5. Alternates may be accepted at the owners discretion and are not required to be accepted in sequential order. A lump sum bid shall be submitted for the basic scope of services and for each of the following alternates: ADD ALTERNATE No. 1: Radial Bench (South and Genesee Street) Installation of surface mounted radial bench as specified in the Contract Drawings. ADD ALTERNATE No. 2: Granite Pavers in lieu of Brick Pavers (South and Genesee Street). Installation of granite pavers in lieu of brick pavers as specified in the Contract Drawings. ADD ALTERNATE No 3: Custom Granite Pavers in lieu of Brick Pavers (South and Genesee St) Installation of custom engraved granite pavement area in lieu of brick pavers as specified in the Contract Drawings. ADD ALTERNATE No 4: Lighting (South and Genesee Street) Installation of exterior lighting as specified in the Contract Drawings. ADD ALTERNATE No 5: Lighting (William and Lincoln Street) Installation of exterior lighting as specified in the Contract Drawings LOCATION The two sites are located within the City of Auburn and are within 1 mile of each other. The South Street and Genesee Street location is comprised of the sidewalk and planting area at the southwest corner of the Genesee Street and South Street intersection (4255'53.39"N 7633'58.64"W). The William and Lincoln Street location is comprised of the lawn circle located at the northwest corner of the William Street and Lincoln Street intersection (4255'47.72"N 7634'3.33"W). Both sites are accessible from the public Right of Way and public parking is accessible adjacent to both locations. TIME OF PERFORMANCE The site improvements shall be completed and ready for the Art Installation no later than October 6, 2023. The timing of the start of construction shall be at the discretion of the Contractor, with the approval of the Downtown BID. All site work 'by others' will be performed by the City of Auburn, prior to the commencement of construction by the Contractor. SPECIAL CONDITIONS o The Contractor will be permitted to work eight (8) hours per day, five (5) days per week and will not be allowed tor work overtime except during an emergency or unless written permission is obtained from the City of Auburn prior to working more than eight (8) hours per day or forty hours per week. o Construction activities must not interfere with the operations and public use of the adjacent public sidewalks, building entrances and roadways. SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS - SHOP DRAWINGS, PRODUCT DATA AND SAMPLES No construction shall be initiated by the Contractor on any portion of the project without the proper submissions called for in the Contract Documents. Before construction is started on any portion of the work, all shop and/or placing drawings pertaining to that portion of the work shall have been submitted and reviewed by the Landscape Architect.
