Description

The purpose of this project is to provide municipal infrastructure in accordance with the 2006 "Opportunity Corridor Master Plan" in order to promote and encourage economic redevelopment in the Corridor. The project will be phased as follows: 2021: Storrs Street Extension North final design and construction from the current north end of Storrs Street at the Holiday Inn to Constitution Avenue. Assumes at grade crossing of High Speed Rail Corridor ($7,300,000) 2024: Storrs Street Extension South design from Storrs Street at the intersection of Theatre Street southerly beneath the Water Street bridge to Langdon Avenue ($500,000) 2025: Storrs Street Extension South construction southerly from Theatre Street beneath the Water Street bridge to Langdon Avenue ($5,000,000) As of August 03 , 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2022-2027 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2023. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
