Beeline Trail Phase 1 (Washington Street to West Main Street) - City of New Britain

As of February 2, 2023, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the design stage. It is anticipated construction will start in 2024. *The previous solicitation is listed below for reference The improvements will include construction of the first phase of the Beeline Trail in New Britain, CT. This phase of the Beeline Trail is approximately 4,300 feet of paved multi-use trail which runs parallel to the south side of the Route 72 right of way between Washington Street and West Main Street. The project also includes drainage improvements, fencing, minor landscaping, granite curbing, concrete sidewalks, retaining wall(s), and restoration of disturbed areas. The projected construction cost is expected to be in the range of $2,400,000. Firms responding to this request should be of adequate size and sufficiently staffed to perform the assignment described above. The Consulting Engineering firm will be evaluated and selected based on design and technical competence, the capacity and capability to perform the work within the time allotted, past record of performance, and knowledge of Federal, State, and Municipal procedures, appropriately weighted in descending order of importance. The design fee will be negotiated on a Lump Sum basis. The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) sub consultant goal will be no less than five percent (5%) of the original agreement value. The selected firm must meet all Municipal, State and Federal affirmative action and equal employment opportunity practices. A letter of interest, together with general information on the firm and proposed sub consultants, the firm's brochure, current complete Federal Form SF330, experience of the firm, and resumes of key personnel shall be addressed to: City of New Britain Jack Pieper, Purchasing Agent27 West Main Street, Room 401New Britain, CT 06051Additionally, all interested firms must submit a detailed statement including the organizational structure under which the firm proposes to conduct business. Proposed sub consultants should be clearly identified. The relationship to any "parent" firm or subsidiary firm, with any of the parties concerned, must be clearly defined. Personnel in responsible charge of the projects will be required to possess and maintain a valid Connecticut Professional Engineer’s License. Failure to address any addenda relating to the RFQ may disqualify the submission. The City of New Britain reserves the right to accept or reject any or all RFQ submissions: to waive any technicality in an RFQ or portion thereof submitted, and to accept the RFQ deemed to be in the best interest of the City of New Britain.
