New Animal Care and Welfare Building - City of Bullhead City

Plans call for the remodel of a 27,350 square foot newspaper building into an animal shelter to include 75 kennels, 75 cat cages, administrative offices, a conference room, full veterinary services and kitchen/ laundry areas. As of July 26, 2023, the project is in final design which should be completed in 6-8 weeks. An architect has been selected. The project will be publicly advertised to bid. Construction is anticipated to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: City of Bullhead City ("City"), is hereby issuing a Notice of Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") and conducting a competitive process with a qualified firm to provide engineering services for the design, construction preparation, and construction supervision services for the construction of a new Animal Care and Welfare Building in Bullhead City, Arizona. The City invites interested firms or individuals ("Contractors") to submit a written proposal ("Proposal") relating to this solicitation. A screening committee will evaluate Contractor qualifications and ability to perform the Project, conduct interviews, and as may be appropriate, make an invitation for a City site visit for further evaluation. The Contractor determined to be the best qualified to perform the Project will then be invited to negotiate and enter into an agreement with the City all in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes Questions concerning the details of RFQ submission, or technical questions concerning the specifications listed within the RFQ that can be resolved by a brief answer or clarification, should be directed to Jeff Tipton, Director of Human Services, (928) 763-9400 ext. 8157, fax no. Questions may then be responded to by written amendment to this document. Oral statements or instructions do not constitute an amendment to the RFQ. The City reserves the right to reject any or all submittals, or to withhold the award for any reason it may determine, and to waive or not to waive any informalities in any submittal. All information regarding the content of the specific submittals will remain confidential until an agreement is finalized or all proposals are rejected.
