Description | The north carolina department of transportation is requesting bids for u-5914_nc 133/ old river road. All quantities are estimates only. The contractor must furnish labor, equipment, and traffic control. The department of transportation does not exclude any person from participation in, deny any person benefits of, or otherwise discriminate against anyone in connection with the award and performance of any contract covered by this program on the basis of race, color, sex, political affiliation/influence, or national origin. Contractors bidding on ncdot contracts must sign up for the interested parties list for each project they intend to submit bids on. As part of this new requirement, contractors must sign up for the interested parties list no later than one business day prior to the letting date. The availability date for this project is june 1, 2023. The completion date is april 26, 2024. A bid bond or bid deposit in the amount of 5% of the total amount bid will be required. The bidder shall submit an electronic bid bond with each electronic bid submittal unless a bid deposit is furnished instead Contractor's license: a general contractor's license is required in order to submit a bid on any non-federal aid project where the bid is $30,000.00 or more, except for certain specialty work as determined by the licensing board. Prequalifying to bid: all prospective bidders shall be prequalified with the department of transportation prior to submitting a bid. Contractors who are not prequalified may obtain information and forms for prequalifying from the contractual services unit, division of highways, department of transportation, 1509 mail service center, raleigh, n.C. All required prequalification statements and documents shall be filed with the contractual services unit at least four weeks prior to the date of opening bids. The north carolina department of transportation, in accordance with the provisions of title vi of the civil rights of 1964 (78 stat.252) and the regulations of the department of transportation (49 c.F.R., part 21), issued pursuant to such act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that the contract entered into pursuant to this notice will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, color, or national origin. Statements of minority business enterprises and women business enterprises participation must be presented with the bids. Mbe goals are 3% and wbe goals are 3% for this contract. The combined mbe/wbe goal for this project is 6%. Please refer to the contractor id# referenced when making inquiries regarding this project.
