Description | The South Jersey Port Corporation (SJPC) is seeking competitive quotes from qualified electrical contractors to perform preventive maintenance of four (4) pieces of high voltage equipment at the D Substation on the Broadway Marine Terminal, 2500 South Broadway, Camden, NJ. Scope of Work: The four pieces of equipment are two 4,160-volt switches and two 4,160-volt transformers. One pair is located in the D Substation Building, and one pair is located outdoors on Pier 1A. See attached photos and single line diagram. 1. Isolate the D Substation feeder and perform lock out tag out and grounding at the main substation. Circuit 10. 2. There is an existing fused disconnect tapped above the 480 Volt 1600-amp main air circuit breaker in the D Substation bus rack. Transfer the existing bus tap connections to the line side of the main air circuit breaker. Existing cables size is believed to be 4/0 Copper. 3. D Substation Switches - Service, clean, and inspect two (2) indoor 5KV manually operated switches in the D Substation. Inspect the switches for fuse sizes and cable sizes to verify correct fusing. Verify transformer nameplate information feeding the 440-volt switchgear. The inspection shall include contact resistance on main contacts and fuse holders. 4. D Substation Transformer - Should be opened, and all connections checked, and high and low voltage compartments cleaned. An oil Sample shall be taken and tested for DGIO and 5 Part Screen Test. 5. Pier 1-A Substation Switch - Shall be serviced, cleaned, and inspected. The cable terminations will be cleaned, and connections checked. All phase barriers will be cleaned and inspected, all insulators and contacts will be cleaned and inspected. Contact resistance will be checked on the main switch and both fuse holder bays. 6. Pier 1-A Substation Transformer - Shall be opened, and all connections checked, and high and low voltage compartments cleaned. An oil sample shall be taken and tested for DGIO and a 5 Part Screen Test. 7. Return the system to service. The work shall be performed between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The work schedule shall be approved in advance by SJPC Operations.
