2023 Greene County Schools HVAC Improvements - Contract I or Contract II

**As of March 29, 2023 this project has been awarded to three contractors. Project Contract 1(a) awarded to REA, Inc. for $592,310.00 Contract 1(b) awarded to Trane for $1,044,241 and Contract 2 awarded to American Mechanical Contractors, Inc. for $2,586,684 for a total bid expenditure of $4,223,235** **As of January 10, 2023 this project has been cancelled. Project will be re-bid at a later date.** All insurance contracts and certificates of insurance shall be either executed by or countersigned by a licensed resident agent of the surety or insurance company having his place of business in the State of Tennessee, and in all ways complying with the insurance laws of the State of Tennessee. Further, the said surety or insurance company shall be duly licensed and qualified to do business in the State of Tennessee. In order to perform the work, the successful Bidder shall, as applicable, hold or obtain such Contractors' and Business Licenses as required by state and local statutes. All work performed for CONTRACT I and CONTRACT II shall comply with the Davis-Baron Act (see title 40, United States Code, Public Buildings, Property, and Works). The Owner's responsible contact person for this project is David Myers. Bids for CONTRACT II shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the Greene County School System in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date bids are opened. He may, however, withdraw his bid at any time prior to the time and date scheduled for opening of same or any authorized postponement thereof. Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered and will be returned unopened to the bidder. Bids must be accompanied by all attachments noted on the Bid Form. The successful bidder for CONTRACT II will be required to fully complete all work within 120 consecutive calendar days from and including the date to start work established in a written order (Notice to Proceed) from the Owner. If forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the bid must be enclosed in another envelope and mailed to Greene County Schools Central Office, 910 W. Where appropriate, responses and addenda will be issued to all plan holders in writing.
