Description

El Paso County is soliciting proposals from qualified Contractors to furnish all materials and labor as necessary for the removal and replacement of asphalt roadway surfaces, concrete curbs, and gutters at the Pikes Peak Center of the Performing Arts. This project will require approximately 9,700 square feet of roadway. Exact square footage is to be verified by the contractor. Work is anticipated to be completed between June 1, 2022 and August 1, 2022. A. Demolition and removal of existing asphalt surface. B. Remove concrete curb island. C. Grading and sloping of existing surface to insure appropriate water drainage and appearance. D. Prepare the sub base for stability and compaction to support new asphalt pavement. E. Proof roll the sub base and make necessary repairs to ensure the surface is ready to support new asphalt paving. F. Material in soft spots shall be removed to the depth required to provide a firm foundation and shall be replaced with material equal to, or better than, the best subgrade material on site. G. Add binder and surface course. H. Install new asphalt surface in accordance with the City of Colorado Springs Standard Engineering Specifications and the Pikes Peak Region Asphalt Paving Specifications. I. Smooth all butt joints and transitions from new to existing asphalt and concrete surfaces. J. Replace or repair curb and gutter as needed. K. Hash stripe, white paint, ADA loading/unloading zone per attached site plan. L. Work will need to be performed around the Pikes Peak Center event schedule.
