Exterior Painting at Thomas Walker High School

Lee County Public Schools is seeking a contractor to perform painting on all exterior woodwork and repair/replace woodwork on Thomas Walker High School. Description of Project/Purpose The School Board is soliciting Requests for Proposals for the exterior painting of Thomas Walker High School. The intent of this RFP and resulting contractual agreement is for the successful bidder to provide exterior painting on all of the woodwork on the building. Scope of Services A licensed paint contractor is sought to perform the exterior painting of the woodwork at Thomas Walker High School. It is the sole responsibility of the bidder to verify the total area and gallons of paint required to complete the project. The following criteria are required for the project: o Contractor shall scrape and remove all loose paint, dirt, and mold. o Any woodwork that is damaged must be replaced to the greatest extent possible back to its original condition and approved by a School Board representative. o Contractor will provide all scaffolds, ladders, staging, and/or aerial lift equipment necessary to perform work above ground in a safe and efficient manner. o Because the building shall remain open during the on-going work, all reasonable efforts must be taken to ensure public access, to provide for the safety of people using these facilities, and to minimize any disruption to the daily activities of the school. o The color of paint must be approved by a School Board representative before start of the project. o A mandatory pre-submittal conference/inspection is required of all parties interested in submitted bids.
