**As of May 2,2023 project was awarded to Sowers Construction Company, Inc, awarded amount is $435,497.50.** This project will develop the site for the new terminal facility and adjoining apron. This project consists of approximately 2,000 CY of earthwork, a new retaining wall, 1,300 CY of crushed aggregate base course, a new drainage system, and relocating the existing electrical vault. Additive Bid 1 includes paving the parking lot, curb and gutter, sidewalks, and new utility connections. Bid Security equal to 5% of the total of the Base Bid and Bid Additives is required in the form of a cash deposit or a Bid Bond. Contract Security in the form of 100% Performance and Payment Bonds will be required. No Bid may be withdrawn after closing time for the receipt of Bids for a period of one hundred twenty (120) consecutive calendar days. The Mount Airy Surry County Airport Authority and Parrish and Partners of North Carolina are not responsible for bid documents obtained from other sources. Questions related to the Contract Documents must be submitted in writing to the Engineer no later than 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Each Bidder must be properly licensed for all aspects of the work under Chapter 87, General Statutes of North Carolina (G.S. 87-15). Prior to submitting a bid, each Bidder must be properly pre-qualified as a prime or POC bidder through the North Carolina Department of Transportation for the work that the bidder intends to perform. Each Bidder shall certify, in its proposal, that neither it nor its principals is presently debarred, suspended, proposed for debarment, declared ineligible, or voluntarily excluded from participation in this transaction by any Federal department or agency or the State of North Carolina. The MBE and WBE goals for this project are 2% MBE participation and 3% WBE participation or 5% combined MBE and WBE participation. Certain mandatory state and federal requirements apply to this solicitation, and will be made a part of any contract that is awarded, as specified in the Project Manual. The Mount Airy Surry County Airport Authority, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 USC 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration of an award. The Mount Airy Surry County Airport Authority reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in or to reject any or all Bids and to award or refrain from awarding the Contract for the work, whichever the Authority deems to be in its best interest.
