Description | This project includes the following at the Raw Water Pump Station: adding a fifth pump and new Variable Frequency Drive (VFD); a new VFD for existing Pump No.2; one new and one relocated air compressor; associated piping, valves, and other appurtenances to connect the new pump to the existing pump discharge common header pipe; demolition of the existing potassium permanganate system; new sodium permanganate system and room; and other Work as indicated in the Contract Documents. At the Booster Pump Station: A new fourth pump and VFD; associated piping, valves, and other appurtenances to connect the new pump to the existing pump discharge common header pipe; and other Work as indicated in the Contract Documents. The Contractor will be required to pay no less than the higher of the rates required by the Davis-Bacon Act and the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act for each classification of work. The Contractor will also be required to comply with the equal opportunity provisions set forth in the Contract Documents and all Federal, State, and Local regulations. Each Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of five percent of the Bid. Bidders may not withdraw their Bids for a period of ninety days after the actual date of the opening of the Bids. The Successful Bidder must furnish a 100 percent Performance Bond and a 100 percent Payment Bond with a surety company acceptable to the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to determine the low, responsive bidder, and to waive any informality or irregularities or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in its best interest.
