Description

Lead paint Removal at Various DCR Facilities Contractor Qualification DCAMM Certificate There will be no Pre-bid Conference meeting The proposed contract includes a combined requirement of 10.4% of the bid price for minority-owned business enterprises and women-owned business enterprises. All Bidders for this project are required to be certified with the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in Deleading Work under these items includes removal and disposal of peeling lead paint from various DCR facilities along with removal and disposal of all debris on the floor and ground. Paint removal shall consist of removing all visible paint down to the bare substrate from the floor, wall or ceiling or to a height of 5' as directed by Project Engineer. Paint removal for interior and exterior doors, door jambs and door casings shall begin at the floor to ground junctions and extent beyond the five foot level to the head brim. Painted doors shall have the paint removed from the edge of the side panel beyond the four inch line to the first interior panel. Paint shall also be removed from existing locks and hardware.Paint removed from wood, metal, plaster and other substratess hall be performed using accepted chemical strippers, caustic paste products, or wetscrapping or Contractors approved methods. This method shall be approved by DCR Project Engineer. The abatement Contractor shall seek DCR Project Engineer Approval for the use Caustic Paste on this project. Any use of caustic paste shall be in complete conformance with the manufacturer's specifications. Worker's protection shall be increased to include Chemical resistant non-permeable gloves and face shields. PROTECT FLOORS AND ADJACENT PAINTED SURFACES. Any damagesto the surfaces will be repaired or replaced at NO COST TO THE DCR All paint chips, slurry, waste and debris generated from paint removal occurring during exterior brim and wood-work shall not cause damage to existing wood or trim components. Any damage shall be repaired by the Contractor at NO COST TO THE DCR
