Description

HMA resurfacing for a shared-use path in a county park This project consists of HMA resurfacing on the Sparks Foundation County Park Trail. The location of the proposed work in Jackson County is: 1. Sparks Trail: From the curb opening at the northeast corner of the intersection of Denton Road and S Brown Street (STA 10+00) to the point at which the trail reconnects with itself (STA 80+15). The length of the proposed work is 1.33 miles. Refer to the Project Map for more detail. The proposed work for the Sparks Trail will include butt joint milling and HMA resurfacing. The length of this work is approximately 6,600 feet. HMA paving will consist of one and a half (1.5) inches of HMA, 5E1. The pavement shall be placed to a width of eight (8) feet at a slope approximately equal to existing, unless otherwise specified by the Engineer. The Contractor will be responsible for wedging low areas prior to paving as marked out by Engineer. Wedging will paid for as HMA, 5E1. Refer to the JCDOT Special Provision for HMA Application Estimate and the Typical Cross Section sheets. The Contractor will be required to mill 6-foot butt joints from the edge of all bridge approaches and curb or concrete sidewalk tie-ins. These locations will be marked by the Engineer. This work will be paid for as Pavt for Butt Joints, Rem. JCDOT will be responsible for completing all de-berming and crack cleaning prior to HMA paving, as well as all restoration following paving
