Description

As a component of the project the modifications necessary at the Northern Industries building, to facilitate the vacation of the NWC Brookside building, will be scheduled as the first scope of wor related to the overall project. This work will include modifying a section of the building to provide temporary living arrangements while the Brookside building is under construction. Six former classrooms will be altered to accommodate a total of 12 clients. Each room will contain two sleeping rooms and a common space. The HVAC system in the Northern Industries building will be modified to accommodate the resident per ASHRAE 170. The existing lighting will be modified to accommodate the new bedrooms. The fire alarm and egress lighting will also be modified to meet the requirements for an I2 Nursing Home facility. Work on the Brookside building will commence after the alterations to the Northern Industries building is complete and the residents have been moved from Brookside into Northern Industries; and will consist of the tear-off of a metal over-roof, original shingle roofing system and replacement with a new steel shingle roofing system, and a complete HVAC upgrade to the building.
