Structural Glass for Installation by the County or the Contractor: All glass shall be new and shall meet or exceed all industry standards for structural glass, as well as all applicable building codes. The Contractor shall be required to stock, or have readily accessible, sufficient quantities of all glass sizes to meet the County’s needs. For installations performed by the County, most of the structural glass will be picked up by County staff. Bidders should be located within a 30-mile radius of the Chesterfield County School Facility Services Department, 9800 Krause Road, Chesterfield, VA 23832. This may be a factor in the award decision. Removal/Installation, Repair and Emergency Services Provided by the Contractor: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, machinery, equipment, supplies and travel necessary to perform the work. The Contractor shall be capable of performing any services normally encountered in removal and installation of structural glass. Glass removal/installation shall be performed by qualified technicians in accordance with structural glass industry standards. The Contractor shall remove and dispose of glass off-site. At no time during glass removal shall the structure be unsecured and exposed to the weather. Materials: Related parts, installation kits, sealants, caulk, tape and other materials required for glass installation services shall be provided.
