Wind Tunnel Refurbishment

Product Specifications: The primary aspect of this requirement is for the Contractor to provide a three-axis motor traverse system replacement; a variable pitch fan replacement; and provide training for at least four (4) CRREL personnel on all updated equipment as follows: 1. Three-axis Motor Traverse System Replacement. Motor traverse system that positions the anemometer carriage is in need of refurbishment and upgrade. Contractor will purchase servo motor traverse system capable of moving the 3-axis anemometer carriage 9.75m (z-axis) x 2.4m (x-axis) x 1.2m (y-axis). The system will include absolute rotary encoder feedback for all three axes. Contractor will supply all necessary materials and perform installation, to include replace/repair any wiring necessary for installation. Contractor will purchase and install National Instruments cDAQ data acquisition and control system for servo motor. LabView software to control NI cDAQ system will be installed on the designated CRREL computer. 2. Variable Pitch Fan Replacement. A variable frequency drive (VFD) will be purchased and installed by the contractor to control fan motor speed. Contractor will purchase a 40 Hp, 460 V (3 Phase). Contractor will repair/replace any wiring/fuses/etc. during installation. 3. Personnel Training. Contractor will provide training services to CRREL personnel on the operation, maintenance and capabilities of the upgraded Wind Tunnel.
