Chelyan Salt Building Roof Exit 85

Fabric covered arch style roofing system for a salt storage building that is being constructed at the Chelyan Maintenance Facility located at Exit 85 along the West Virginia Turnpike. The structure will have inside clear dimensions of 60 ft by 120 ft (62’-4” by 122’-4” out to out) and will be constructed of reinforced concrete walls and slab. The building walls will project above the finished slab grade a minimum of 12' -0" to accommodate a 10' -0" salt stack height at the walls and a minimum 15'-0" center stack height. The roofing structure shall be designed to allow a minimum 39'-0" vertical clearance, 10' -0" each side of building centerline. The Authority will accept bids for alternate roofing structures; however, the alternate systems shall meet or exceed the minimum specifications included herein. Bids proposing dome style roofing systems will be rejected. The roofing system shall meet all standards for compliance with Local, State and Federal code guide lines. The Authority is also requesting that an enclosed door option be priced separately.
