Description | The Dry Wash and Lowery Water areas are designed to reduce pinon/juniper density and stimulate decadent sagebrush to restore winter and transition range habitat for Mule Deer and Rocky Mountain Elk. Multiple units in the project have been treated using mastication by the USFS. Due to limited access for equipment, unit 6, 8 and unit 10 will be treated using a “lop and scatter” and “cut and pile” hand thinning contract. This includes the contractor to furnish labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies and incidentals to properly clear treatment units. Approximately 122 acres of lop and scatter and approximately 279 acres of cut and pile are located within the Dry Wash and Lowery Water project area. |
