Description | The timber made the subject of this notice is located on the following described lands: Marion County, Alabama, Township 13 South, Range 11 West; the Southeast 1/4 and the Southeast 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 2, containing 75 acres more or less to be thinned. Walker County, Alabama, Township 13 South, Range 9 West; the Southeast 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4, North of Interstate-22, of Section 21, containing 33 acres more or less to be thinned. Walker County, Alabama, Township 13 South, Range 9 West; the North 1/2 of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 22, containing 73 acres more or less to be thinned. Walker County, Alabama, Township 13 South, Range 9 West; the North 1/2 of the Northwest 1/4 and the Southeast 1/4 of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 23, containing 120 acres more or less to be thinned. Walker County, Alabama, Township 13 South, Range 9 West; the Southeast 1/4 of the Southeast 1/4 and the Northeast 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 33, containing 70 acres more or less to be thinned VOLUMES: The estimated product class timber volumes are as follows: Pine Pulpwood 17,079 TONS Pine Chip-N-Saw 8,746 TONS Hardwood Pulpwood 207 TONS Hardwood Sawtimber 31 TONS Volumes are not guaranteed and all bidders must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of estimated quantity. TIMBER: The timber to be cut is a portion of all planted loblolly pine timber greater than 4 inches DBH and all merchantable hardwood timber except for approximately 60 square feet per acre of pine leave tree basal area within the sale area. The pine timber to be left within the sale area should consist of undamaged dominant and co-dominant classes resulting in a healthy and well distributed stand. Every third row is to be removed for harvest access where practical. As many diseased, forked, deformed, broken or undesirable trees as possible should be removed from the stand while maintaining acceptable leave tree basal area. The external boundaries of the sale area are yellow painted property boundaries and hardwood drains as shown on the sale area maps. Streamside management zones are not included in the sale area. Logging slash accumulated on loading decks in the thinning area will be redistributed on skid trails to minimize compaction and erosion. No trees within any streamside management zones are to be cut. Wildlife openings will not be entered with equipment for the purpose of skidding, accumulating or loading timber, or for the parking or maintenance of equipment. Location of loading sites will be coordinated with SLD personnel. The successful bidder shall begin harvesting in the area designated on Sale Map 1 as “Approximate Storm Salvage Area” within 15 business days of the date of the Governor`s signature on the timber sale contract and harvest all damaged merchantable timber as quickly as possible. TERMS OF SALE: Each bid submitted must state the per unit bid for each of the four products listed below to be produced pursuant to a contract authorizing the cutting and removal of timber until December 31, 2021 |
