https://www.hotsr.com/news/2022/sep/30/watch-ardot-director-gives-update-on-road-projects/ - The 1.5-mile widening of Highway 270 west from the Highway 227 junction to Fleetwood Drive is scheduled to be completed by late next year. The $23 million project funded by the state's 0.50% sales tax is building four travel lanes, a turn lane and bike lanes. The segment from the expressway to Highway 227 will also be resurfaced. The widening was initially programmed to extend west to the Lake Hamilton bridge. Tudor said ArDOT plans to take bids on the 1.7-mile project in 2024. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ As per the Owner the project has been Withdrawn. Editorial Content Team is actively seeking updated information. The Purpose of This Project Is to Widen Approximately 1.745 Miles of Highway 270 in Garland County. This Project Consists of Removal and Disposal Items, Earthwork, Aggregate Base Course, Achm Binder And Surface Courses, Achm Patching of Existing Roadway, Maintenance of Traffic, Minor Drainage Structures, Erosion Control Items, Concrete Walks, Curb and Gutter, Traffic Signal Items, Pavement Marking, One Triple R.c. Box Culvert (Total Span 20.33'), and Misc. Items. Federal Aid Project 9991 Routes: 270 Sections: 5 County: Garland Length: 1.745 Miles in Length. This Proposal Contains the Job Special Provision "site Use (a+c Method)-calendar Day Contract" for Bidding in Which the Bidder Will Determine the Number of Calendar Days to Complete the Project. Questions pertaining to projects during the advertisement period should be addressed to the Program Management Division at pmd@ardot.gov. The deadline to submit a question is the Wednesday prior to the scheduled letting date. A question submitted after the close of business on the Wednesday prior to the scheduled letting date may not receive a response. In order to have a bid considered, contractors must furnish a proposal guaranty consisting of either abidder's bond or a certified or cashier's check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount bid. In order for a bond to be acceptable to the Department, the company issuing the bond must be named in the Department of Treasury Listing of companies holding Certificates of Authority as acceptable sureties on Federal Bonds and as acceptable reinsuring companies. The Underwriting Limitation of the bonding company shall be adhered to. Any excess (between the face amount of the Bond and the Underwriting Limitation) shall be protected by reinsurance provided by an acceptable reinsuring company. These contracts are subject to normal prequalification, licensing and bonding requirements, applicablelabor laws, non-discrimination provisions, wage rate laws and other Federal laws including the Fair Labor Standards Acts of 1938. The Work Hours Act of 1962 and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 also apply. The Arkansas Department of Transportation complies with all civil rights provisions of federal statutes and related authorities that prohibited discrimination in programs and activities receiving federal financialassistance.
