Description | Bid packets may be obtained by calling 815-462-2134. There will be no pre-bid meeting or scheduled walk-through for this project. Bidders shall email all question to Rich Wilkey at rwilkey@lw210.org no less than 7 days prior to bid opening. Any questions submitted after this time will not be addressed. All repairs shall be figured to be saw cut and deteriorated areas be removed to a depth of no less than 5" and replaced in two separate lifts of hot bituminous concrete 3.5" binder course and 1.5" of surface mix. Repair of any sub-standard aggregate stone base or sub base undercuts prior to asphalt installation shall be paid for from the allowance on the bid form, any amount above the allowance will be considered incidental and contractor will not be additionally paid for such necessary repairs, the contractor shall include any additional unforeseen conditions in their base bids. All asphalt repairs will be required to be treated with a bio-based asphalt-rejuvenating agent. Scheduling for Asphalt Repairs: Each facility must be completed before starting work on another. Crack Repairs Crack repairs to the facilities will require the use of two different materials for crack sealing, both rubberized and fiber modified liquid asphalt will be used. Direction will be given to the contractor as to which material will be required for each facility, generally areas that exhibit cracking in closer or tighter (alligatored) areas that cannot effectively be routed will use a fiber modified crack filler.
