Description

The City of Janesville, Wisconsin hereby gives notice that it will receive electronic bids for the following listed Public Work: Ruger Avenue LRIP (Court/Atwood to Randall Ave) - For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all work necessary for the construction of a Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP) project on Ruger Avenue between E. Court Street and S. Randall Avenue, including approximately 2,900 LF of 8" water main replacement; 70 water service reconnections, replacements, or abandonments; 300 LF of storm sewer replacement; 35 utility structure replacements, removals, rehabilitations or installations; 10,200 SY of pavement removal; 11,600 SF of concrete sidewalk and driveway approach replacement; 3,400 CY of unclassified excavation; 8,500 TONS of aggregate base; 3,000 TONS of asphalt paving, 1,700 LF of epoxy pavement markings; 2,100 SY of grass terrace restoration; and miscellaneous construction items. All bidders shall bid in accordance with contract document's Section 2 'Information to Bidders'. The above Public Work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contracts on file with the City Clerk. The determination of the lowest responsible and best bid will be decided by the City Engineer, subject to review by the City Council. The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids. No bid will be considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and performance bond within ten days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to execute such contract and performance bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. If applicable, Federal Davis Bacon wage rates are included in the Contract Documents, as well as on file in the City Clerk's Office. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 45 days after the actual date of the bid opening.
