Description

All proposals must be accompanied by a cashier's check, certified check, or a bid bond, made payable to the Borough of Paramus in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the amount of the bid. The envelope must also indicate A Bid Proposal. Requests mav be emailed to bidinfo@paramusborough.org No bidder shall be allowed to withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the proposals, or bids are opened. The Mayor & Council reserve the right to waive any informalities or defect in any bid, to reject any and all bids, or to accept such bids that, in the discretion of the Council, are in the best interest of the Borough. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 regarding equal employment opportunity, as amended. Bidders are also required to comply with P.L. 2004 c.57, Business Registration Act. This certificate must accompany your bids. The work under this contract includes the following: 1. Draining and cleaning all pools and gutters to prepare for painting the main and intermediate pool. 2. Prepare floors and walls for resurfacing in accordance with the specification 3. Repair and patching of cracks, voids, and spalling in the floors and walls (Contingent Item)4. Painting of all floors and walls in two pools, including preparation. 5. Miscellaneous painting of steps, pool edges and deck signs, including application of nonslip surface on pool steps and guard chair steps. 6. Replace caulking. 7. Refinishing of the concrete pool surfaces, if required (Contingent Item) 8. Painting of deck equipment and signs, as required. 9. Remove cover for Kiddie Pool, drain and clean Kiddie Pool 10. Fill all pools with clean water. Workmanship and Materials o7 The work shall be done under the nominal supervisor of the Pool Commission's Engineer. The Contractor shall provide 10 working days' notice before start of work. 2023 SPECIFICATIONS FOR POOL SURFACE PREPARATION AND PAINTING FOR THE PARAMUS MUNICIPAL POOL B. Pool Equipment 1. The Contractor shall prepare and/or paint the following deck equipment: a. All lifeguard chairs and diving stands which shall be cleaned with a power operated wire wheel, primed with a suitable primer and repainted with one finish coat, same color as existing, using compatible paint (Sherwin Williams, or approved equal.) b. The Contractor shall also drain and pump to waste the residual water in the Main Pool, Intermediate Pool, and Kiddie Pool and common pits and manholes to which the Main and Intermediate Pools drain and from the main pump suction is taken. All settled organic material and debris shall be removed and disposed of at a location offsite in a legal manner. After the manholes have been cleaned, the Contractor shall
